New Book from a Critter Member
**NOW IN PRINT EDITION TOO!** Awesome new book, HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR SPECULATIVE FICTION OPENINGS, from a Critter member who's unearthed a shard of The Secret to becoming a pro writer. Really good piece of work. "...if you're at all concerned about story openings, you'd be nuts not to read what Qualkinbush has to say." —Wil McCarthy, author of BLOOM and THE COLLAPSIUM

I was interviewed live on public radio for Critters' birthday, for those who want to listen.

She's been very good to me and she's put together one of the best collection of horror stories that I've ever seen.
Why is Jeani Rector (My fave) listed twice. I'm afraid that will split her vote up.
She said many positive things about my work. too few editors do.
A thorough and painstaking editor who produces first class material
Jeani has a talent for assembling great works of art
Jeani Rector is a class act - who publishes a terrific magazine - the best horror magazine print or online - thank you Jeanni for doing all you do to encourage writers
Best editor I've ever had, and I've seen plenty.
Jeani is a gracious editor. She is a delight to work with, and like a great coach, she is able to get a writer to dig a little deeper to achieve what they thought was once beyond them.
Besides being a beautiful example of the human kind Jeani rector is dedicated to helping out writers in the writing and making of art i.e. artists dedicated to the arts of living.
She went out of her way to publish my first short story, and kept me updated and interested in the magazine after.
She gets a very prominent writer to add a piece for each issue, so that helps bring recognition to the unknown writers who also appear in each issue.
Outstanding editor. Thorough and exact
While very meticulous with the final product, she is also very encouraging and nurturing to her contributors.
An excellent editor who helped me in publishing my poems.
She does an amazing job supporting up and coming writers!
Jeani is courteous and professional; always publishes quality editions of well known and emerging authors. Many a Thank You!
The layout of the magazine is easy to read, and the illustrations are eye catching and vivid. The magazine looks as a horror magazine should, quite lurid and colourful, and there are often very intricate images. Author biographies are easy to access.
Because I enjoy reading this magazine which has always shown consistent quality and is never boring.
