Critters is 23!

Yes, 23 years ago Critters was born. Wow! Thanks so much to all of you, who've made it such a resounding success!

Critters no longer accepting European Union members :(

It's with a heavy heart that I have to announce Critters can no longer accept people in the European Union as members. This is a result of the "GDPR" privacy laws going into effect. I'm a big fan of privacy, and applaud the general idea behind the GDPR, but the way it's implemented forces me to close the door to EU writers. [read more why...]

New Book from a Critter Member

**NOW IN PRINT EDITION TOO!** Awesome new book, HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR SPECULATIVE FICTION OPENINGS, from a Critter member whose unearthed a shard of The Secret to becoming a pro writer. Really good piece of work. "...if you're at all concerned about story openings, you'd be nuts not to read what Qualkinbush has to say." —Wil McCarthy, author of BLOOM and THE COLLAPSIUM

Network speeding up

I'm switching the connection over to a new, shiny 10X faster network because of all the load. There might be bits of downtime as your boxes learn new addresses and things. Should be brief. Let me know of any prolonged outages you see.

Preditors & Editors Changeover

With the very sad passing of Dave Kuzminski, who ran P&E, I've taken over the P&E duties. Lots of what I hope are improvements; check it out at

Critters Server is Dying has been Replaced

i smell sheep is the best blog ever! They post everything that one needs, answer all questions, and make you laugh your butt off daily!

Consistent feedback and there's always great content available and posts allowing readers to interact. Great site!

The reviews cover more than just books and the reviewers have a wonderful sense of humour too.

: )

Love the mix of posts and reviews

Love the herd

I Smell Sheep provides a fun, unique environment for fans of paranormal, sci-fi and horror. It's more than just books that are reviewed, it's movies, tv shows and comics too.

The variety of things they review -- different genres, books, graphic novels, movies, etc. Also, they have a lot of fun features like character interviews and character recipes. It's a site I enjoy visiting.

I Smell Sheep reviews a wide variety of media and does it WELL. Movies, TV, comics, paranormal books from romance to horror, fantasy, author interviews, you name it. They post a LOT, and the posts are always timely and entertaining. PS - They also have a FB group where members of 'the Flock' can meet to chat -- it's an extra bonus.

They are thorough and cover everything. They interact with their audience, having fun but remaining professional. I enjoy their honest reviews and have found many books I've loved based on their recommendations.

I love the variety of posts and the friendliness of the hosts :D

the group of people are so friendly

I Smell Sheep is an amazing site. LOTS of content and variety, plus humor. They've introduced me to a great many books and graphic novels that I otherwise might have missed.

Love the variety of media reviewed.

They are an awesome review site for PNR, YA, Urban Fan and comics!

I love this site. They’re always fun and different.

Eclectic site with an incredible variety of genres and media reviewed. Reviews are prolific yet high quality, and often entertaining in their own right. I trust their opinion!

I Smell Sheep has an amazing variety of reviews - movies, graphic novels, and a wide variety of book genres. Blog posts are both frequent and high quality.

Love I Smell Sheep, the right mix of fun and charm wrapped up in great book recommendations.

Best review site!

Tons of awesome posts, they are also very funny

Book and movie reviews. Occasional things that break the internet, which are highly amusing.
