In light of the issues in Ferguson, MO, regarding P.O. Darren Wilson and Michael Brown, this book is the timely story of what can happen when an innocent white police officer IS charged with the murder of a black burglary suspect because politics and race are injected into the criminal justice system. This book is the fictionalized account of an actual case involving the murder prosecution of a white police officer.
This is a great story offering insight to what happens to a white police officer and those close to him when he is indited in the death of black suspect. It is a timely novel that closely parallels recent events in Ferguson Missouri and what occurs when politics, justice and race collide. It is a page turner!
THIS BOOK WAS FREAKING AWESOME AND I HATE READING usually.
This book applies to current times happening in st louis
A page turner.
Well written, great St. Louis history, based on actual case in STL. Thought I was reading a Grisham novel!!!
Being a retired photojournalist and knowing the typical, daily news coverage barely gives more than a taste of the facts in a trial, this book opens the courtroom door for the reader. Add in the politics and racial twists that any major city balances, and it's tough to grasp the reality that this really happens. It does.
Great story, held my interest and relevant to current events.
Great book well written.
