How to Write SF

The Craft of Writing Science Fiction that Sells by Ben Bova, best-selling author and six-time Hugo Award winner for Best Editor. (This is one of the books your ol' Critter Captain learned from himself, and I highly recommend it.) (Also via Amazon)

New Book from a Critter Member

**NOW IN PRINT EDITION TOO!** Awesome new book, HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR SPECULATIVE FICTION OPENINGS, from a Critter member who's unearthed a shard of The Secret to becoming a pro writer. Really good piece of work. "...if you're at all concerned about story openings, you'd be nuts not to read what Qualkinbush has to say." —Wil McCarthy, author of BLOOM and THE COLLAPSIUM

A superbly moving and inspirational tale of a rescued dog who has survived against the odds, through hypothermia, broken legs and canine epilepsy.

A heartwarming tale every pet owner should read

Lovely book very well written

Enchanting, cute & true!

A wonderful true story of a beautiful but poorly dog. Sasha is a much loved Staffie with her humans and fur brothers and sisters going to extra lengths to rescue her. A must read, not only for dog lovers, tissues at the ready.

This is the most enjoyable story about a rescued dog called Sasha. It also tells about the wonderful people who adopted her.

I think sasha is brilliant

Great story of a great and brave dog and also great parenting

The author is a caring dog owner and Sasha, his Staffy, is unique and loveable. As someone who is not a dog owner nor particularly a dog lover, I enjoyed this book very much. It's written well and appeals to the heart. Bravo, Sasha and Brian Porter!

Love this story of adorable Sasha and shows what a wonderful breed Staffies are

The book is well crafted and has a lovely hero in Sasha, the dog with the waggy tail.

I just lloved this book because I have 2 rescue Staffies and can totally relate to what the author has written. The book was really well written and described the breed exactly and I believe that the description and actions taken with a dog with epilepsy will have helped many readers with their own dogs. All in all a brilliant read

It tells of a rescue dogs struggle and how she found happiness. More story's like this need to be out there, it shows just how much a true owner will go to, to show love.

Truly special.

An amazing book, amazing writer and amazing fortitude of a dog who is truly loved unconditionally - a great read.

Heart wrenching but joyful book

Sasha is an amazing girl and deserves to win so much xx

brilliant

A very real story of a pet owner dealing with the difficulties of a special needs dog

Great true story...needs to be read.

This book is so dear to my heart. The triumphs and the hurdles are real and continue on today and my heart pours out to Sasha and mr porter. If only they lived on till forever! I'd recommend this book to any dog lover, any animal lover actually. If I could rate this tale from 1-100, I'd be pretty much a 100! Thanks Sasha for welcoming us into your world. X
